Ann-Marie Curran

Founder

Hospitality, event-planning, and guest satisfaction have been the focus of every position held by Ann-Marie since she first ventured into he world of work. A Sonoma County native, she grew up surrounded by the people and influences of the wine country.  Those formative years instilled in her a love for Sonoma County and eventual desire to return.

During her degree pursuit at the University of San Diego, she participated in their semester abroad program which took her to the south of France and the magical city of Aix-en-Provence. The French sensibility for cuisine, and wine as an integral part of daily dining and life, infused her with a passion to make this a career.

After graduation she embarked on a career in hospitality, first working as a resort concierge, and later in catering where she honed her organizational and operational skills.  Her active participation in the catering community lead her to a position as Senior Catering Manager at the San Diego Convention Center.  There she crafted signature, high profile events.  Working in a state-of-the-art facility taught her that large scale events can be executed flawlessly-overcoming the stigma often attached to these functions.

Following her career path but drawn back to family and the life-affirming climate of Northern California, she happily accepting a post as Director of Catering at the new Vineyard Creek Hotel & Spa, Santa Rosa newest luxury hotel.  Her position allowed her to reconnect with friends, local artisanal food vendors, and wineries.

From there she moved into the winery world as Director of Hospitality at Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards & Winery.  Together with the Estate Executive Chef they created menus and events showcasing the terroir, the wines and word class hospitality.

Having gained experience in many different facets of the event planning world it seemed natural for her to venture out on her own, and in 2012 Events by Ann-Marie was launched. Since then she has had the great fortune meet and work with a variety of wonderful wedding couples as well as produce some signature Sonoma County events.

When not working you can find Ann-Marie traveling the world (in the winter months), hiking the trails of Sonoma County, enjoying a glass of wine or doing a downward facing dog!
